The Department of Computer Science at BIT Polytechnic successfully organized a two-day hands-on “BUILDX Workshop – Exploring the Art of Building RC Cars” on February 5th and 6th, 2025. The workshop aimed to introduce students to practical prototyping skills by guiding them in building remote-controlled (RC) cars from scratch using Arduino kits.

The event was inaugurated by Prof. Prithviraj M, Director of BIT Polytechnic, who highlighted the importance of experiential learning in technical education. Resource persons Mr. Abdul Kader Afran and Mr. Muhammed Haashid conducted the sessions, providing step-by-step guidance throughout the workshop.

Over 60 students from various departments actively participated in the program. On Day 1, students assembled the BuildX kits, learned about essential components such as motors, chassis, battery packs, and control modules, and explored basic programming and logic building. They also gained hands-on experience in electrical wiring and remote-control integration.

Day 2 focused on testing, debugging, and fine-tuning the RC cars. Students showcased their completed models and shared their learning experiences. The workshop concluded with an exciting RC car race among ten teams, making the event both educational and engaging.

Overall, the workshop was a grand success, enhancing students’ technical knowledge, problem-solving abilities, teamwork, and innovation skills.
