Hands-On Industrial Learning at Deccan Plast Industry

Students from the 3rd year Mechanical Engineering Department of BIT Polytechnic, Mangaluru, visited Deccan Plast Industry, Kambalapadav, Konaje, on 23 September 2025 as part of their industrial exposure program.

The visit aimed to bridge classroom learning with real-world applications in manufacturing and plastics technology. Students observed various stages of plastic product manufacturing, gained familiarity with industry-grade machinery and equipment, and learned about quality control measures followed in production. Interactions with industry professionals provided valuable insights into the practical application of mechanical engineering concepts.

The industrial visit significantly enhanced students’ practical knowledge and understanding of industrial practices, while motivating them to explore innovative approaches in the field. Faculty members emphasized the importance of such industry exposure in developing technical skills and industrial awareness.
